Telegraph: £30m summer arrival of England defender could trigger exit of key Tottenham player
By Amir Mir
Tottenham are preparing to enter the race to sign Burnley defender Micheal Keane which could prompt the summer exit of Eric Dier, according to a report.
The Telegraph claim that England centre-back Keane will leave Turf Moor at the end of the season with Spurs looking to rival Everton and Liverpool for his signature.
It is said that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is “desperate” to sign Dier and that he will be aware that Keane moving to Spurs would increase his chances of capturing the versatile England international.
The report states that United are willing to pay £40million for 23-year-old Dier, while Keane would fetch around £30million in the summer.
Dier has played a number of key roles for his side during this campaign from playing in a back three to sitting in front of the back four.

But compared to last season his game time has been reduced slightly mainly because of Victor Wanyama, who has been pivotal for the club in midfield.
It is reported that Tottenham don’t want any of their star players to leave in the summer as manager Mauricio Pochettinio has made it clear that he is looking to add versatile players to his squad.
Keane has been in tremendous form for Sean Dyche’s side this term which saw him earn a call-up to the England squad
Gareth Southgate played the 24-year-old on the right-hand side of a back three as he impressed on his international debut against Germany.
Football Insider verdict:
Rather than selling and bringing in replacements, Spurs should focus on adding to their squad if they want to win the Premier League title and add more silverware to their cabinet. Dier has been a crucial player for the club at times, mainly because of his versatility around the park and as result, he should not be sold to a rival. Keane, on the other hand, would work wonders with Pochettino, who has proven he can nurture young talent. With another season in the Champions League looming, the north London club needs strength in depth if they want to continue to succeed.
