Paul Robinson is adamant Alex Telles will be axed by Man United manager Ralf Rangnick when Luke Shaw returns to full fitness.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper claimed Telles, 28, is "nowhere near the player" Shaw, 26, is despite his impressive performance form.

Telles starred for the Red Devils on Sunday as Ralf Rangnick masterminded a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in his first game in charge.

Man United legend Rio Ferdinand told his FIVE YouTube channel (6 December) that Shaw has "a hell of a job" getting back into the starting XI.

When asked by Football Insider for his stance on the left-back slot, Robinson said: "I don't think Telles has taken his chance.

"Listen, he was one of their best players against Crystal Palace but one swallow doesn't make a summer.

"Luke Shaw is a top left-back at both club and international level.

"Telles has had a couple of good games. But, he is nowhere near the player Shaw is offensively or defensively.

"When Shaw is fit and ready I think he will come straight back in."

Shaw has been sidelined for Man United since the 4-1 loss at Watford last month - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's last game in charge.

The England international has made 15 appearances across all competitions this season.
