A former news reporter who cut his teeth at the Shrewsbury Chronicle and Shropshire Star in the late 1990s before heading to London where he clocked up nearly a decade-and-a-half at Press Association, London Evening Standard and Goal, Wayne is the founder and editor of Football Insider and is the managing director of Breaking Media Limited. Loves a last-gasp comeback and believes the 2005 Champions League final was the greatest-ever football match. Can't abide short corners. Or, Panenkas.

Pete O'Rourke, Transfer Correspondent

Pete is Football Insider's transfer correspondent and has over 20 years experience as a football writer, specialising in the deals that make the market whirl. With a CV that includes lengthy spells with Sky Sports and ESPN, Pete has been breaking top-quality exclusives and leaving opponents trailing in his wake during his nine years with Football Insider.

James Murray

James holds a degree in Sports Journalism and Communications (MA) from the Real Madrid Graduate School. He has experience working for a number of local news outlets as well as the Sunday Mirror and Real Madrid TV. James is from Scunthorpe and has an affinity with Scunthorpe United, but is also a huge West Ham supporter and an expert on all things to do with the Hammers. He started working for Breaking Media in July 2023, initially writing on the Club Sites, where he specialised in West Ham content, before moving to Football Insider – where he is now an expert in football finance, speaking regularly with Stefan Borson and Keith Wyness to generate high-quality content in all things related to finance in the Premier League, Football League, and Scottish Premiership.

Callum O'Connell

Callum O'Connell is a Senior Football Correspondent and Podcast Host for Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, Callum provides expert transfer news coverage and behind-the-scenes insight across the Premier League and SPFL, specialising in clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Celtic, and Manchester United among others. Callum was born and raised in Surrey and joined Football Insider shortly after graduating from the University of Brighton in June 2022.

Evan Lloyd

Evan Lloyd is a Football Correspondent for Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, Evan provides expert coverage and tactical insight to produce specialist deep-dive opinion content on the Premier League, including – but not limited to – Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Celtic. Evan lives in London and has previously contributed to the likes of VAVEL, Hayters TV, SPORTbible and Centredevils. He joined Breaking Media in July 2025 after attaining his NCTJ qualification.

Evan Shaw

Evan Shaw is a Football Correspondent at Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, he provides expert transfer coverage and in-depth behind-the-scenes insight across the Premier League, EFL, and SPFL, specialising in the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa. Evan live in Nottingham and has previously worked for Football League World, and done an internship with Burton Albion Football Club, after graduating from Derby University in 2025.

Harri Burton

Harri Burton is a Senior Football Correspondent for Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, Harri provides expert coverage of all refereeing controversies and expert analysis of rules and decision making from the PGMOL. He specialises in the Premier League, EFL, and SPFL. Harri lives in Derby and has previously worked for Chesterfield Football Club, and has written for The Football League Paper and Late Tackle, plus enjoyed a short stint with the Premier League as a Freelance Consultant. He graduated from the University of Derby with a degree in Football Journalism in 2023.

Jack Dawson

Jack is a Football Correspondent for Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, Jack provides expert coverage and tactical insight of the Scottish Premiership, with a particular focus on Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen, and Motherwell. Jack is from the Staffordshire town of Cannock and has previously contributed to the Edinburgh Evening News and GRV Media, after graduating from the University of Derby with a degree in Football Journalism and later a Masters in 2022.

James Barker

James graduated with a BA (Hons) in Sports Journalism from the University of Sunderland in 2024. He spent two years working for renowned EFL news outlet Football League World, first as a freelance writer, before moving into an editorial role. He also spent over a year volunteering as Head of Media for non-league club Seaham Red Star FC, and joined Breaking Media in December 2025.

Max Wilkins

Max graduated with a degree in Football Journalism from the University of Derby in 2023. After previously writing for VAVEL, Lichfield City and GRV Media, he started work at Breaking Media in 2024.

Oliver Walton

Oliver Walton is a Football Correspondent for Football Insider as part of the Breaking Media network. With a background in Sports Journalism, Oliver provides expert coverage of fan-engagement content in the Premier League and Championship, ranging from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool to Birmingham City and Wrexham. Oliver is from Stoke-on-Trent and has previously contributed to Reach PLC and PA Media, after graduating with a degree in Sports Journalism from the University of Central Lancashire in 2023.

Scott Mason

Scott graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Wolverhampton in 2022. He has spent four years working as a digital journalist working for GamingINTEL and GRV Media. He joined Breaking Media in January 2026, where he works across the company's club websites.

Former FIFA and Premier League referee Keith Hackett joined Football Insider in March 2021 to deliver his exceptional insight into the unique world of refereeing. Never one to sit on the fence, he offers expert analysis into the officials' performances, as well as the behaviour of players and managers. Keith Wyness

Keith has huge footballing experience through his time as CEO at Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen. He now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs and joined the Football Insider team in December 2023. Keith joins us weekly on the Inside Track Podcast to provide his expert insight.

Mick Brown

Mick has extensive experience in scouting, recruitment and coaching at some of England's biggest clubs. He spent over a decade at Man United, where he rose to be chief scout, and was also the assistant manager to Ron Atkinson at United and Roy Keane at Sunderland. Mick has also held chief scout or senior scout roles at Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City and Aston Villa, with his most recent role at West Ham coming to an end when David Moyes left the club. He joined the Football Insider team in October 2024 to provide his expert insight.

Stefan Borson

Stefan joined the Football Insider team in June 2024 and provides expert insight on the world of football finance and business. A former investment banker, he is CEO at Watchstone Group PLC.
