'The very best' - Ibrox Exclusive: Hutton blown away by 'Brilliant' Rangers midfielder

Alan Hutton says he thinks Rangers fans are seeing the best of midfield star Joe Aribo after his move further up the pitch

The former Gers defender and lifelong fan at Ibrox, speaking in an exclusive interview with Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that 23-year-old is giving the Light Blues “a different dimension” in a more attacking role.

Aribo arrived at Ibrox from Charlton on a free transfer over the summer and has become a mainstay under Steven Gerrard, playing primarily in a midfield role.

However, he has recently been moved into a more advanced role on the right-wing and Hutton says the switch has worked wonders for both player and club.

“I think Aribo’s been brilliant,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“Since he moved forward, I actually really like him there, he can really showcase his skills. He’s very comfortable on the ball so since he’s moved forward, I think he’s been playing really, really well.

“He gives Rangers another dimension. It’s not just running in behind – he’ll take it to feet and he’ll spin, lovely little passes. He’s very clever, he’s a really good footballer.

“He’s really coming into his own now, we’re seeing the very best of him and it’s since he’s been switched further forward.”

Aribo has started the last three league games on the right-hand side of the attack, contributing an assist in each outing as well as scoring against Hibernian.

He has a total of 31 appearances under his belt already this season, scoring six goals and chipping in with seven assists.

In other Rangers news, Hutton says the club are facing a “massive loss” as a senior figure considers leaving the club.
