Thierry Henry believes that Liverpool attacker brings a star quality to the Premier League and feels he has been the player of the season.
The 25-year-old completed a move to Anfield in the summer from Southampton and has enjoyed a sensational first campaign since his £34million switch.
He is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury that means he will not play again this season.
However, the right winger has still played a major role in the Reds’ season and been one of their most influential players.
Sky Sports pundit Henry has hailed the qualities of Mane and feels he is an asset to the Premier League.
“Sadio Mane has been the player of the season for me,” Henry told Sky Sports. “Mane is a hell of a player.
“He brings something different to Liverpool – but not only to Liverpool, to the Premier League [as a whole]. He’s been a star this year.”
Mane had been in fantastic form before his injury setback and he also missed a couple of games due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The pacy attacker has still made 29 appearances for the Merseyside club this campaign, scoring 13 goals and supplying eight assists.
Liverpool have just one victory in the five league games Mane has missed this season and that proves how crucial he has been.
The Senegal international has optimised the hard working philosophy of Jurgen Klopp and has blistering pace has been a nightmare for defenders, while also showing a real composure in front of goal.
