Rangers fans 'wowed' by 'massive' Van Bronckhorst update after footage emerges - pundit
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has the “experience and know-how” to succeed as Rangers boss after winning the Eredivisie title with Feyenoord, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Ibrox faithful will be “excited” about the prospect of the 46-year-old taking the reins.
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reported yesterday (November 13th) Van Bronckhorst had held “positive talks” with Rangers as he was spotted flying back to Holland.
Negotiations took place in London as the Scottish champions search for a Steven Gerrard replacement.
The Englishman quit his managerial post at the club to join Aston Villa last week.
Van Bronckhorst managed Feyenoord between 2015 and 2019. He secured a famous league title in 2017 – their first of the 21st century.

Whelan insisted that triumph will have Rangers fans excited about the prospect of having the 2010 World Cup finalist at the helm.
“The fans will enjoy that appointment, wow – he’s a big ex-player coming back to Ibrox,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He had success at the club, there’ll be no grumbling from Rangers fans about him coming in.
“The fans will be excited about Van Bronckhorst, what he’s done in the Dutch league. He’s got the experience and the know-how. He’s not just a big name or someone who has played for the club.
“He has been there and done it. He knows how to deal with top players. He’s got the idea of what is expected of the club having played for Rangers as well.
“It’s massively important to have that experience, and it makes him a huge contender to get that role.”
