Arsenal deserved their heavy loss to Liverpool in the Premier League as they didn’t turn up for the game and produced an awful performance.

That’s according to a furious Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the recent 3-0 loss at The Emirates.

A Diogo Jota brace and a Mo Salah strike condemned Arsenal to another home loss as a clinical second-half performance was enough to take all three points on the night.

The result was a blow in Arsenal’s mission to secure a top-six finish with time running out to catch their league rivals.

Campbell claims Arsenal blew a chance to get in the face of the Liverpool team and insisted that the key issue is the players not turning up for games.

“The performance was awful, the whole team was awful,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“You think to yourself that this is a great chance to get at this Liverpool team and they just never turned up, this is the issue.

“When you don’t turn up for games, you can’t win and to be fair to Liverpool, they did to Arsenal what Arsenal deserved.

“They deserved nothing and if you give Liverpool that opportunity they aren’t going to mess around, they’re going to take it.

“In the first half, Liverpool should’ve been ahead, it was just a matter of time and far too easy.”

The result left Arsenal tenth in the Premier League table and seven points off the top six with only eight games remaining.

Arsenal will continue their hunt for European success when they face Slavia Prague in the Europa League on Thursday night as they look to put their recent league defeat behind them.
