Tyrone Mings will be in demand this summer despite Aston Villa escaping relegation.

That is according to former Premier League midfielder Michael Brown, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge as raved about the 27-year-old he declared is top class.

As revealed by Football Insider last month, Everton made an approach to sign the 27-year-old this summer as Carlo Ancelotti looks for a left-sided centre-back.

And Brown insisted his ability using his left foot will be a big reason for clubs potentially coming in for him this summer.

When asked for his verdict on Mings, Brown told Football Insider: “He’s a left sided centre half who can play. He can play diagonals across the pitch and is very composed.

“There’s not too many like him about so there will be interest in him potentially.”

Everton are not the only side believed to be interested in the England international.

ESPN reported last month that Premier League giants Manchester United are monitoring Mings’ progress as they consider him a cheaper alternative to Manchester City-bound Nathan Ake.

Mings initially joined Villa on loan during the 2018-19 season and helped Dean Smith’s men to promotion via the play-offs.

This prompted the Midlands side to make the move permanent, splashing out £26million to price him away from Bournemouth.

Aston Villa will be playing Premier League football for the second successive season next term, after a late surge helped them escape relegation.

Dean Smith’s men picked up eight points from their final four games to pip Bournemouth to the final survival spot by one point.
