Thomas Frank odds slashed to become new Celtic manager in surprise update

Celtic are on the hunt for their next manager for the 2026-27 campaign, with Thomas Frank suddenly emerging as a surprise candidate.

The former Brentford manager was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season after a dire reign at the club.

Since then, the Dane has been linked to multiple position in England, including the Crystal Palace position.

However, Frank is now just 5/1 to become the new Celtic boss with one bookmaker, with Oddschecker on 22 April confirming that these odds have been slashed.

Martin O’Neill is set to leave Parkhead at the end of the season, with Celtic yet to announce a replacement.

Could Thomas Frank lead Celtic to glory?

Frank has no doubt has a difficult past year.

However, those terrible months should not distract Celtic from the years of good he did at the Bees.

At Brentford, he turned a mid-table Championship side into a formidable Premier League outfit, who were getting better year upon year.

Many of their players under his tenure rapidly improved and soon became world-class stars, such as David Raya, who is the current Arsenal number one.

Therefore, if Celtic are prepared to give Frank time and the resources to rebuild the club, there is every chance he can be a massive success.

Who is the current favourite for the Celtic job?

Keith Wynes exclusively told Football Insider that Celtic may look to appoint Robbie Keane in the summer.

As it stands, one bookmaker has the former Hoops star as the overwhelming favourite to take over at 7/4.

Current Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou is yet to be ruled out at 5/1 after impressing in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Roberto Martinez remains in the running at 6/1 as he prepares Portugal for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

A potential outsider is Craig Bellamy, who has impressed in his first job in charge of the Wales National Team.

However, it remains to be seen who Celtic opt to appoint as they face their biggest summer in years at the club.
