Thomas Frank to ‘consider’ West Ham move as David Sullivan plots ‘ambitious’ swoop
Thomas Frank would not rule out a move to take charge of West Ham United ahead of next season, sources have told Football Insider.
The 52-year-old is out of work after being sacked by Tottenham earlier in the season, and it is understood that a move to the London Stadium is something that he would “consider” is the project was right.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at West Ham is under major scrutiny, and sources say that there is acceptance behind the scenes that a move for Frank would be “ambitious” at this stage.
Nevertheless, the Dane is expected to be “open to offers” ahead of next term, as it is understood that he is keen to get himself back into management in the coming months.
Nuno’s future at West Ham remains undecided, but it is clear that a move to replace him with Frank may not be out of reach if they can put an appealing offer on the table for him.

David Sullivan and Co. are still yet to decide on Nuno’s fate in the aftermath of their disappointing relegation, and it is entirely possible that they could settle on a change in the dugout in the coming days.
Frank remains an appealing candidate for them despite his difficult stint with Tottenham, as the impressive work that he did at Brentford means he still has plenty of admirers.
| Manager | Games | W | D | L | Win % |
| Nuno Espirito Santo | 217 | 81 | 54 | 82 | 37.3% |
| Thomas Frank | 178 | 61 | 46 | 71 | 34.3% |
| Scott Parker | 86 | 13 | 21 | 62 | 15.1% |
| Gary O’Neil | 88 | 25 | 16 | 47 | 28.4% |
However, at the moment, the Dane is still not at the top of the pecking order for the Hammers, with both Scott Parker and Gary O’Neil believed to be more likely options if they do decide to sack Nuno.
Parker has three promotions from the Championship on his CV already, while O’Neil previously lead both Bournemouth and Wolves to Premier League survival, before guiding Strasbourg to eighth in Ligue 1 this term.
Nuno’s situation is precarious at the moment after he failed to achieve his remit of keeping the club in the top-flight, and it could ultimately cost him his job.
West Ham are already assessing their options for if that scenario does play out, and they will be ready to act if they decide that a change is needed.
West Ham manager will have money to play with in 2026-27
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider earlier this week that West Ham could net up to £65million for Mateus Fernandes this summer, with interest from both Manchester clubs already.
The Scottish businessman suggested that there will be an “auction” for the 21-year-old in the coming months, as he is one of few players in the squad that could net a substantial fee for the club.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville and Taty Castellanos are also facing hugely uncertain futures after the team’s relegation, but significant sales would leave the Hammers with money to spend.
Their manager for 2026-27 will have to work hard in order to rebuild the group, but there will likely be no shortage of money for him to use, with key stars likely to head elsewhere.
Settling Nuno’s future remains the immediate priority at the London Stadium, but a final decision in tyat department looks set to spark the start of a busy summer at the club.
