26-year-old to be tested: Three things we expect from Tottenham in clash v Bournemouth
COMMENT By Matt Bullin
Tottenham Hotspur take on Bournemouth in the lunchtime kick off this Saturday, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side continue to chase Chelsea.
Here are three things Football Insider expects from the Premier League encounter.
Big test for Trippier
The 26-year-old has had to bide his time with Kyle Walker being Pochettino’s first choice right-back – but Trippier has taken his opportunity with both hands since coming into the XI. He played a blinder last time out against Watford, looking solid at the back and a real force going forward – he even provided an assist for one of Son’s goals. But he will be up against the Cherries in-form man on Saturday. Josh King has 10 goals in his last 11 appearances and will be Trippier’s main responsibility on Saturday – the Norwegian will provide the right-back with his toughest test yet.
Kane back with a bang

Following three Premier League games out with injury, Kane looked bright in his 30 minute cameo against Watford and came close to scoring when he rattled the bar with a 30 yard free kick. The 23-year-old will be itching to get going again and he will be looking to bag a goal or two to reignite his charge for the Premier League golden boot – as well as ensuring Tottenham push Chelsea hard for the title.
Spurs could confirm top four
If Tottenham win on Saturday they will go 10 points clear of Manchester City in fourth. Although City do face Southampton later on Saturday – this gap all but confirms Spurs’ place in the Champions League next season. With only six games left after the Cherries tie – it will take a disastrous run for them to miss out. A win would also put them within touching distance of Chelsea in the title race.
