Football Insider predicts three things to expect from Aston Villa’s clash against Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams to score
Despite Burton sitting in the bottom three and Villa looking to record their fifth consecutive clean sheet, Steve Bruce’s side will be in for a tough match on Saturday afternoon. On home soil, Nigel Clough has built a team that likes to play open, expansive football on their small pitch. Additionally, with Villa looking for the win, this could open the game up and see the possibility of both teams scoring during the match. On paper, the away side are expected to pick up the three points, but it will be a tricky encounter for the Midlands outfit.
Kodjia to find the back of the net
The Ivory Coast international has been on a remarkable goalscoring run of late, scoring seven goals during his last seven matches. Furthermore, he has scored five of Villa’s last seven goals, which has helped them pick up maximum points from their last four matches. Burton have conceded 54 goals during this campaign, which would make the dangerous and in-form Kodjia more of a threat to Clough’s side at the weekend. It is likely that the summer signing will add to his 18 goal tally.
Amavi to struggle
Jordan Amavi has produced inconsistent performances this season and has been a huge disappointment to the fans. With a number of injuries to Bruce’s side, he has played the Frenchman on the left-wing in recent months. But, with the home team possessing fast, attacking threat, especially from the counter, it won’t a surprise to see the 23-year-old left-back struggle. He started the Tuesday night win against QPR and could also feature in the starting XI at the weekend.
In other Aston Villa news, this defender could be axed for the clash against Burton.
