Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie claims Celtic could sell Jota for upwards of £20million in a few years after a flying start to life in Parkhead.

The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, has been blown away by the attacker's recent performances.

Jota, 22, joined Celtic on loan from Benfica with the club confirming they have the option to make the deal permanent.

Sky Sports have reported that option will cost the Hoops £6million.

Jota has now made nine appearances for Celtic and, before Tuesday's game, had grabbed two goals in his last two games.

However, he also stole the headlines v Ferencvaros as his outrageous through ball set Kyogo Furuhashi away to score the opener.

"What more can I say about the boy?" McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"Assuming he signs, which I very much hope he does, it makes so much sense from a business point of view.

"Fans won't like this, but we could flip Jota for triple that £6million in a few years.

"People might laugh. Tierney went for £20million or so, so it's not unthinkable.

"I love Jota and I hope he stays for a long time but from the club's point of view, they will want him signed."

Tierney left Celtic for Arsenal in 2019 and has gone on to win the FA Cup with his new side.

Celtic sit fourth in the Scottish Premiership table after winning five of their nine games.
