Football Insider analyses the three talking points after Aston Villa are beaten 1-0 by Ipswich on Saturday afternoon.

Alan Hutton should leave in the summer

One aspect of Hutton’s play you cannot fault him for is his blood and thunder like nature when defending. The right-back produced a steady display against Ipswich, but there are aspects of his game which are letting him down. From his first touch to his ability to attack on the right-hand side. Now, teenager James Bree is in the building and with Ritchie de Laet set to return from injury in the summer, the senior man should leave the club when his contract expires in July.

Jonathan Kodja needs to be more selfless

The Ivory Coast international has a bundle of talent, great ability and skill on the ball to get past defenders, but he needs to more selfless. Kodjia is now playing in a front two with Scott Hogan and if he wants that partnership to flourish then he needs to pass to his teammate. There were numerous occasions when Kodjia decided to go for the heroic long range shot rather than find Hogan who had made an intelligent run. At the end, his wasted opportunity came back to haunt Bruce’s side.

Mile Jedinak has been a huge miss

Steve Bruce’s side have not won a game when the combative midfielder has been absent and that proved to be the case once again. Villa can kiss goodbye to promotion because, after their first home defeat of the season and third loss in a row, there is no miracle comeback. Jedinak would usually provide the steel in the middle of the park, ensure that the concentration levels are kept high at all times, but that was not the case against Ipswich. Amongst all the flair Villa have,  his tough nature has been a huge miss.
