Tino Livramento bids farewell after emotional Newcastle exit confirmed

Newcastle players including Tino Livramento and Jacob Murphy reacted on social media after an emotional exit from the squad was confirmed.

The Magpies have endured a frustrating summer window so far, missing out on several top targets despite Newcastle securing the signing of Anthony Elanga.

Striker targets such as Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Hugo Ekitike have all opted to join other clubs, leaving Eddie Howe‘s side with more work to do.

At the same time, a number of current players have been linked with possible moves away.

Football Insider recently revealed that Liverpool were prepared to make a Premier League record bid for Alexander Isak, though Newcastle remained firm in their stance that the striker was not for sale. Howe and the board have been consistent in their message throughout the window that no key players will be sold.

However, the club has now officially confirmed the departure of a long-serving and influential figure in the dressing room, prompting a wave of reaction from fans and teammates alike.

Sean Longstaff completes Newcastle exit in £12m Leeds move

It was confirmed on 18 July that Sean Longstaff has left Newcastle to join newly-promoted Leeds United in a deal worth £12 million.

The midfielder, a product of the club’s academy, has been with Newcastle since 2006. He shared an emotional farewell video post, reflecting on his journey from battling relegation to scoring in the Champions League and lifting silverware.

Longstaff simply captioned the video: “Thank you for everything” with black and white heart emojis.

The post sparked a wave of heartfelt responses. Jacob Murphy replied: “Hero. Legend. Love you brother,” while Tino Livramento added: “Thanks for everything brother, you’ll be a big big miss.”

Other players such as Joelinton, Harvey Barnes, and club legend Alan Shearer also showed their support by liking the post.

The 27-year-old made 214 appearances for the Magpies and will now link up with Daniel Farke at Elland Road. Everton were also keen on Longstaff, especially after losing Abdoulaye Doucoure, but Leeds ultimately secured the signing.

Man City eye Tino Livramento as Kyle Walker successor

While Livramento’s response to Longstaff’s departure was emotional, his own future at St James’ Park is now in question.

Football Insider revealed that Manchester City are targeting Livramento as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker, who recently completed a move to Burnley.

However, Newcastle remain determined to hold onto their key players this summer. With Champions League football secured, Howe and the club hierarchy are in a strong position to resist offers and keep Livramento at the heart of their plans
