Tony Xia has expressed his delight at Aston Villa’s “nervous win” over Nottingham Forest on social media and has singled out goalscorer Conor Hourihane for his efforts in the match.
Steve Bruce’s side secured a 2-1 victory against Mark Warburton’s team at Villa Park with winning goals courtesy of Albert Adomah and Hourihane.
Xia mentioned 26-year-old Villa star Hourihane and hailed him for his extra training led to his success on Saturday evening.
The Chinese businessman shared his views on his personal Twitter account after the match, and said: “A nervous win… is a win! The extra practice after sessions pays back Conor Hourihane! Now to the next one, all lads.”

At the beginning of the second half both sides had a goal on the scoresheet, but Hourihane’s 50th league goal of his career secured his side’s third win of the Championship season.
Villa have had a mixed bag of results over previous weeks and only came away with three points from their 4-2 win over Norwich City back in August and their 3-0 hammering of Barnsley last weekend.
Their recent victory meant the club climbed three places in the standings to 10th position on 13 points.
Steve Bruce and his squad will now prepare to travel to the Pirelli stadium on Tuesday for their next Championship clash against Burton Albion.
In other Aston Villa news, Tony Xia has confirmed and out of window club transfer on social media.
