Tony Xia: Multiple clubs have expressed interest in this Aston Villa midfielder
By Will Butcher
Tony Xia has revealed that a number of clubs have expressed their interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan with Ligue 1 side St. Etienne, where Xia claims he has caught the eye of a number of sides with the summer transfer window looming.
Villa owner and chairman Xia revealed on his personal Twitter account that Veretout was the subject of interest from more than one side as he continues to shine for Les Verts.
Xia also asked Villa fans whether keeping Veretout for next season should be an option “even though some clubs have offered interest”, after he scored his third goal of the season in a 1-0 win over Dijon with a superb solo effort.

On loan until the end of the season, Veretout is likely to leave Villa on a permanent basis as Steve Bruce’s side look set to remain in the Championship for another season.

Bruce brought in a whole host of central midfielders in January, signing Conor Hourihane, Henri Lansbury and Birkir Bjarnason and that would suggest his side are planning a future without Veretout.
However, after starring for St. Etienne, Xia could be tempted to keep the beach-blonde star ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
Making 34 league and cup appearances for his loan side this season, Veretout has scored three times and supplied four assists as well as helping his side win 11 times.
