Tottenham midfielder Filip Lesniak is set to quit the club this summer despite making his debut for the club in their 6-1 demolition of Leicester on Thursday night, according to a club insider.
The unofficial Tottenham academy account reported in a Twitter exchange that the Slovakian, 21, is set to exit White Hart Lane when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Asked about Lesniak’s contract situation, the account reported he “would expect Lesniak to leave this summer” as the midfield anchorman “isn’t a future Spurs player”.
This revelation came after the insider, who is a hugely reliable source of information about the club’s young players, had broken the news on Twitter on Thursday that Lesniak and attacking midfielder Samuel Shashoua had been promoted into the Spurs matchday squad for the trip to the King Power Stadium.
I’m told Filip Lesniak & Sam Shashoua are in the squad for today’s game.

In a game memorable for the four goals from Harry Kane that took him to the top of the Premier League scoring charts with one match of the season remaining, Lesniak was handed his first-team debut by Mauricio Pochettino when he replaced Mousa Dembele after 86 minutes.
It was the first taste of senior Spurs action for the central midfielder, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Slovan Liberec before returning in January to be a regular for Tottenham’s development team in Premier League 2.
Lesniak might not be the only Tottenham midfielder exit this summer, with speculation intensifying that Moussa Sissoko will also be offloaded after his relationship with Pochettino reached an all-time low.
The academy account has a growing reputation as a reliable source of Spurs news, and has broken a number of stories about youth-team players and coaches at the club, including the revelation last summer that Edwards had committed to a new White Hart Lane deal and in January that centre-back Anton Walkes had agreed a transfer to the MLS.
In other Tottenham transfer news, a £21.5million striker who has ripped up a tough league this season has pushed for a massive move after Spurs agreed personal terms.
