Christian Eriksen has recreated Paul Gascoigne’s wondergoal for Tottenham in the 1991 FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal.
Eriksen, 25, was given four attempts to replicate Gascoigne’s long-range free-kick as BT Sport continue to lay down the gauntlet for current stars to recreate iconic goals of the past.
On his fourth attempt, Eriksen found the top corner of the goal in a video posted by Gary Lineker on his personal Twitter account, before being mobbed by teammates Vincent Janssen, Georges N’Koudou and Ben Davies.
Former Spurs striker Lineker, who scored a brace in the match played at Wembley that finished in a 3-1 win against Arsenal, described Eriksen’s repeat as a “decent effort”.

Gascoigne found the top corner of the net 26 years ago to the day with a stupendous strike that flew past goalkeeper David Seaman.
Spurs went on to the final to beat Nottingham Forest with a 2-1 win after extra time, after Des Walker scored an own goal in the 94th minute at Wembley.
Denmark international Eriksen has been in sublime form for the north London outfit under the guidance of manager Mauricio Pochettino this season.
Scoring 11 goals for Spurs as Pochettino’s side sit second, the former Ajax star has also provided 17 assists during his 41 league and cup appearances and will be keen to add to that on Saturday.
Spurs play host to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at White Hart Lane, with three points enough to reduce the gap between themselves and league leaders Chelsea to just four points.
In other Tottenham news, former star Graham Roberts has taken a dig at Arsenal fans.
