Tottenham have confirmed that injury-stricken midfielder Victor Wanyama is set to see a specialist next week as he looks to step up his recovery from a knee issue.
Wanyama, 26, has been out of action since August and it seems that he is not showing the signs of progress that Spurs would have hoped, with the North London club now announcing on their official Twitter account that the Kenyan is poised to seek assistance from outside the club’s medical staff in the next few days.

Wanyama has made just two appearances for Tottenham this campaign when he played against Newcastle and Chelsea in the Premier League in August.
He has since been forced out of their last 10 games meaning that Harry Winks has stepped up to the first-team squad in his absence and has caused quite the stir among fans and pundits, even earning a debut international cap for England.
Tottenham will have to hope that they can continue their good form against Liverpool this weekend to keep themselves within touching distance of the two Manchester clubs, who look to be in a league of their own so far battling for the title.
However Liverpool will prove to be tough guests for Spurs though, with the the Londoners failing to win in their last 10 meetings with the Merseyside giants.
