Tottenham ask PL club to be kept informed over winger with mega price-tag (not Barkley) - report
By Harvey Byrne
Tottenham have asked Leicester to be kept informed over the position of star Riyad Mahrez at the club, according to a report.
The Evening Standard have detailed on their website that Spurs have been in contact with the Foxes over the 26-year-old right-winger.
However, it is also reported that the north London club won’t enter the race “seriously” until Leicester drop their mega price-tag on the Algerian which is thought to be close to £50million.
This is the second Premier League attacker Tottenham have been linked with this summer, who has a £50million price-tag with the Mirror reporting that Everton wanted as much for Ross Barkley.
But, given Tottenham’s record fee paid currently stands at £30million for Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle they are unlikely to smash that by a further £20million this summer.

Mahrez himself move to Leicester in 2014 and has become one of the Premier League’s stars, as he was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year after helping Leicester to a shock title win in 2016.
The attacking midfielder also has three years remaining on his contract and Leicester are likely to put up a fight for him.
Football Insider verdict:
Mahrez proved in the 2015-16 campaign that in the right mood he can be one of the Premier League’s best players. However, he struggled to meet the hefty heights in the last campaign and many have been quick to dub him as a one season wonder. Saying that, he still managed a return of 10 goals and seven assists in 48 matches in all competitions, which are still impressive totals. A manager like Mauricio Pochettino could also help the Algerian discover his best form and if Leicester’s asking price does drop then Tottenham should certainly consider making a move.
