Tottenham backed to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen after news twist - expert
Alan Hutton has backed Tottenham to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said Antonio Conte’s side will be looking for a goalkeeper who can “play with their feet”.
According to French outlet Jeneus Footeux (2 October), the Lilywhites see Ter Stegen, 30 as a potential replacement for captain Lloris, 35.
Lloris was linked with a move to his boyhood club Nice last year (30 December), but ultimately stayed in London.
The France international currently has two years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium whilst Ter Stegen’s deal at Barcelona expires in 2025.
The Spanish giants are said to be open to selling the German international to ease their financial worries.

Ter Stegen is also said to be tempted to test himself in the English top flight.
When asked if the German keeper would be a good alternative to Lloris, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think they need a long-term replacement.
“Lloris is 35 now, there is the odd mistake creeping in. I think Tottenham, moving forward, will want somebody coming in and pushing for number one.
“They will want somebody who can play with their feet. I don’t think Lloris is overly great starting the ball from the back. Someone like Ter Stegen, who has got time on his side and can play with the ball could be an option moving forward.“
