Tottenham should be prepared to hand Antonio Conte a £150million transfer war chest this summer, according to Paul Robinson.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, urged the club to "give Conte what he needs" to deliver success on the pitch.

According to The Telegraph's Matt Law (6 May), Conte is going to tell Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici he wants six to eight new players in the summer.

The Italian manager believes significant changes are needed to make Spurs' squad competitive at the top end of the Premier League.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski arrived from Juventus in the January window.

Both players have hit the ground running in north London.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs for his preview of Tottenham's summer window, Robinson said: "You have to give Conte what he needs.

"Spurs have the manager that they want. Now he needs to be backed. If it's £15million or £150million, you have to back the manager.

Tottenham

"The club is in a situation where they have the best stadium in the world, the best training facilities in the world and one of the best managers in the world.

"Give Conte what he needs. The only thing missing is trophies and success on the pitch. Whatever Conte goes into the boardroom and says he needs, the club have to support him."
