Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is preparing a sensational £110million swoop for Tottenham trio Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Kyle Walker, according to a report.
The Daily Star claims the Portuguese manager has identified the England trio as his major summer targets and he has pledged to double their wages to more than £100,000-a-week each.
This comes after the Mirror claimed United were preparing a £40million bid for Dier alone.
Pochettino is obviously keen to hold onto all three players, who have been mainstays in his side this season.
Dier has made 46 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this term. Walker has made 39 appearances and Rose, who has been injured since February, has played 21 league and cup games.
The trio are all England regulars and have been capped a combined 54 times.
Football Insider verdict
This would be one of the most sensational transfer swoops in history if it happens. However, Tottenham fans can rest easy – there is little chance that Spurs supremo Daniel Levy will let Dier go to United, let alone Rose and Walker too. And even if his head was turned, the fee touted is not likely to be enough, as there are not many players around who could fill the roles the trio do in Spurs’ squad. The move would weaken Spurs’ team massively, but it would also damage the club’s mentality. Because if they really do want to challenge for titles, they need to hold onto their best players, not sell them off to the highest bidder. There will be a lot of transfer rumours flying around this summer, but not many more unlikely than this one.
In other Tottenham transfer news, scouts have been sent to watch this 21-year-old Serie A ace.
