Revealed: Spurs coaches convinced hardly-seen teen will be World Beater next season

Tottenham coaches are convinced they have a potential world beater on their hands in Ryan Sessegnon, Football Insider can reveal.

The 19-year-old has struggled to make an impact in north London since his protracted £25million move from Fulham last August.

He arrived with a hamstring injury, did not make his debut for three months and then struggled to get up to speed and justify his fee when he eventually got his chance.

Nevertheless, Tottenham staff are in no doubt about the potential and talent of a player Jose Mourinho has known all about since his early teens when his own son Jose junior was in the Fulham academy set-up.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Mourinho and his backroom staff believe the club will have a different player on their hands next season.

By that point, Sessegnon would have had a year at the club, a full pre-season under his belt, greater personal strength as physicality, as well as the platform for his dazzling talent to shine.

Mourinho intends to use the left footer in principally attacking roles, on both the left as well well as the right.

Longer term, he regards the teen sensation, who does not turn 20 until next month, as a left-back capable of matching the exploits England and Chelsea legend Ashley Cole.

Sessegnon has made just four Premier League starts among 12 appearances in all competitions since joining Tottenham.

He has been used at left-back as well as in a more advanced left-sided role but scored just once and assisted once in 772 minutes of action.

This is a far cry from his exploits at Fulham, where he was named in the Championship team of the season in back to back years as a 16 and then 17-year-old, and also won the division’s coveted player of the season award.

In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that the club are facing a devastating financial loss after new update.
