Paul Robinson has claimed the Tottenham dressing room "is so tight" after Harry Kane scored his first Premier League goal of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said it was "a massive, massively relief" for the whole Spurs squad when the 28-year-old netted.

Kane scored his first Premier League goal of the 2021-22 campaign at Newcastle, with the aid of VAR.

As relayed by Sky Sports (17th October), there was visible relief in the celebrations from the Spurs XI, who went on to win 3-2 at St. James' Park.

The England captain was under intense scrutiny after he failed to net in the opening six league games of the season.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the jubilant reaction of the Spurs players to the goal, Robinson said:

"It is great to see the dressing room is so close, so tight. They are obviously all in support of a player who is struggling for form and struggling for goals.

"For Kane to get to mid-October not having scored a Premier League goal... There is no hiding from it, there is not skirting around it, he is bang out of form.

"It was a massive, massive relief when VAR overturned the decision. You could see how much it meant to Kane and the rest of the team."
