Tottenham Exclusive: Levy overrules Mourinho over Ndombele transfer
Daniel Levy has made it clear he wants to keep Tanguy Ndombele at Tottenham despite major misgivings from Jose Mourinho, Football Insider understands.
The central midfielder’s future is one of the big talking points at Spurs going into the summer window following his difficult debut campaign.
A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that chairman Levy is determined to keep Ndombele as he believes the France international, 23, has the potential to be a Premier League superstar.
The £54million signing could be one of Spurs’ best hopes of instigating an overhaul of their squad as Mourinho is faced with the prospect of selling first-team stars before he can buy.
The financial chaos caused by the pandemic means the London club’s budget is set to be dramatically reduced.
However, long-standing club chief Levy does not want to let Ndombele go and is convinced he has the ability to turn around his Spurs career.

Mourinho was subsequently pictured leading a one-on-one training session with Ndombele on Hadley Common near Barnet in north London last month in an attempt to get the player up to speed.
