After defeats to Manchester United and a shock loss to West Ham United, Harry Kane is expected to be fit enough to return to the Tottenham team to play against Real Madrid.
Mauricio Pochettino shared in an interview with Sky Sports that he had a good feeling about the striker’s fitness for the Real Madrid game.
He said: “My feeling is good, but it’s not my feeling, it’s Harry Kane’s feeling.”
If Kane is fit to play, this is the starting XI we expect Pochettino to name for the Champions League tie on Wednesday, featuring two changes from the Manchester United defeat.
Victor Wanyama is still ruled out with his knee injury. However, Erik Lamela could be fit enough and might make the substitutes’ bench.
Dele Alli did not feature in the last game against Real Madrid as he was serving a three match suspension in the Champions League but is available for the home tie.
Despite some impressive performances, we expect Harry Winks to drop to the bench as Eric Dier steps up to midfield.
Fernando Llorente should get another start as Mauricio Pochettino looks to use the same tactics that were so successful at the Bernabeu.
Tottenham go into this game joint top of Group H with an identical goal difference to Real Madrid – both sides are locked on seven points after three games played.
In other Tottenham news, Jamie Redknapp believes Sissoko is ‘not in the same league’ as his teammate.
