Tottenham expected to sell senior 'rebels' after source reveal today - pundit
Tottenham will try and sell the senior players rebelling against Nuno Espirito Santo’s methods in January, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Spurs appointed Nuno “for the long-term” and would back him over the squad.
A Tottenham source told Football Insider today (October 12) senior players are “unhappy” and “unimpressed” with their new manager’s methods and communication.
It is understood there is a real prospect of a mutiny in the dressing room.
“The problem is that Nuno Espirito Santo is going to need time to find out which players are on board with his methods,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I’ve been at clubs before where managers have come in and the players have rebelled and they’ve not been happy with their methods and style of coaching. Maybe that’s happened at Spurs.

“Nuno will look at it, there have been certain players he’s got rid of, and maybe he wants to get rid of more in January and get his own players in.
“I reckon the club will stick by him and let him change that team to one that wants to stick by him and do what he says.
“He’ll know which players aren’t happy and just get rid of them.
“Spurs have brought him in for the long-term, not a short-term job, so they’ll back him to move on players that aren’t with him.”
Nuno took over from Jose Mourinho just before the start of pre-season training in the summer.
He oversaw three 1-0 wins in the opening three Premier League games of the season but Spurs have won just one of their subsequent four top-flight games.
