Contrary to reports that have been released, there is no official timescale on the return of Harry Kane from injury, according to a Tottenham expert.
Alasdair Gold, the Tottenham correspondent for Football.London released a live video update on Harry Kane as he filmed a walkthrough of the new stadium on Wednesday morning.
He reported that Kane’s ankle was still too swollen to do the scan and that he wasn’t even sure if that would take place today.
He said that there was no official timescale for Kane’s return but that there should be more information released by Tottenham at their pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“His ankle is still very swollen, they still don’t have an exact figure,” Gold said.
“They don’t even know if the scan will take place today. We may know more tomorrow in Pochettino’s press conference.”
Football Insider verdict:
Good and bad news for Tottenham – and England fans – here. The Mirror report has jumped the gun, with claims that he’s fighting to be fit for the World Cup. That doomsday scenario is obviously still on the cards but nothing has been confirmed yet, and nobody will know anything until Kane has his scan. That might take place today, although Kane’s ankle is still swollen. That’s obviously not great news but it doesn’t mean anything in itself. Tottenham fans will be praying that it’s not a season-ending injury, with plenty of games left in the Premier League and a Champions League spot still to play for. Thankfully, in Heung-Min Son, they have a player who’s in the form of his life.
