Tottenham expert issues 'huge' Ivan Perisic prediction after what he's seen in person

Ivan Perisic may continue to play as a striker for Tottenham after an impressive display against Liverpool.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Perisic, 33, started as a centre-forward against Liverpool on Sunday (6 November) due to the ongoing injuries crisis in Tottenham’s attacking ranks.

Wenham was impressed with what he saw in person at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and now sees the Croatian as a viable attacking option despite primarily playing as a wing-back for Spurs.

“I really want to talk about Perisic playing as a striker,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I now think that is a genuine option for us. Say Kane gets an injury or something, I think there is a world where Perisic starts with Kulusevski or Son either side of him.

“He has got power and strength to his game that allows him to hold up the ball and his delivery is fantastic with both feet.

“He was unlucky not to score a couple of goals against Liverpool and I was really, really impressed with what I saw.

“It’s another positive to a huge list of reasons we signed him in the summer.

Perisic has made 19 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season.

He has failed to score but has provided four assists for his teammates.
