The report details that that the Belgian international is seen as the long-term option at left-back.

Spurs already have senior options Danny Rose and Davies in their squad, but Mauricio Pochettino could look to bring in another Belgian player.

Lukaku moved to Lazio in the summer from Belgian club Oostende and continued his development into a top player.

The defender, who is the brother of Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, is a member of his national side and has made seven appearances to date.

The full-back is well recognised for his attacking style, scoring three goals and supplying 10 assists in 83 appearances at Oostende.

He has made four appearances for his new side Lazio this season and is under contract with the Italian side until 2019.

Spurs’ interest may come as a surprise to some people, with Rose and Davies proving they are both reliable in defence.
