Paul Robinson has claimed Tottenham have "a huge" season ahead of them.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one fears the club could lose Antonio Conte and Harry Kane if progression is not made.

Conte has 12 months left on his contract, with the option of a further year.

Kane has two years remaining on his deal.

According to Football.London's Alasdair Gold (26 July), the England captain is open to talks over a new contract.

When asked by Football Insider if he expected Kane to put pen to paper on fresh terms, Robinson said: "Performance holds everything together at Spurs.

"The pack of cards could quickly come crashing down if performances and results aren't what is expected this year.

"If Spurs do not finish in the top four this season I would expect Conte and Kane to leave next summer. Their futures are dependant on results and one another. It will have a huge effect on what they both do going forward.

"Harry Kane expressed his desire to leave last year. He wanted to win trophies and have success before the end of his career.

"If there is no sign of progression this year and the manager leaves, the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG will come knocking.

"It is a huge season for Spurs on the field.

"By the same token, if they do well Conte and Kane would both probably sign new deals. It would take care of itself."
