Tottenham fans blast Pochettino decision to omit 26-year-old from Arsenal clash

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham fans on Twitter have blasted manager Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to omit full-back Kyle Walker from the starting line-up against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old has played in 30 of Spurs’ 33 Premier League matches this season, but recently he has started just three of their last five league games with Kieran Trippier favoured.

The former Burnley man has been picked instead of Walker again for the north London derby with the latter dropping to the bench after a rare poor performance against Crystal Palace in midweek.

This has noticeably caused some anger from the Tottenham fan base on social media with many keen to see Pochettino name what they consider to be the club’s strongest line-up against their fiercest rivals.

One supporter claimed it was a “stupid” decision from the Argentine manager, while another stated they had no idea what Pochettino was thinking.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Trippier, 26, has played in just eight Premier League matches for Pochettino’s team this season, providing three assists.

Fans will now be hoping his delivery can cause the Arsenal defence problems on Sunday with the match to be the last ever north London derby at White Hart Lane.

In other Tottenham news, Gianluigi Buffon has made a huge claim about this reported Spurs target.
