Tottenham fans were less than impressed on social media with the display of star midfielder Christian Eriksen in the club’s win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
Despite Spurs going in to halftime 1-0 down thanks to a first half Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang strike, a goal from Harry Kane shortly after the break levelled the scores before Heung-Min Son curled a shot into the top corner to turn the match on its head and secure the three points.
However, while there were many bright performances on show from Mauricio Pochettino’s men, the Tottenham faithful were not happy with what they saw from Danish international Eriksen.
They took to Twitter to voice their frustrations despite the win, with one suggesting that Spurs should put him in a Denmark shirt from now on following his World Cup qualifying heroics for his country.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
Group of death = smashed ! Great win away !! Alli and Eriksen still poor need to sort it out !

I’m sorry but Eriksen has been so wasteful in possession tonight, get him off and rest him, get Dembele on

Fantastic result this @SpursOfficial
Really solid performance against a class side. Everyone apart from Eriksen had a great night.
Top of the group. COYS.

I think Dele Alli played well. Son eventually hit the net. Aurier was impressive along with Rose (love that combo). Eriksen didn't have a great 2nd half…praised him for his first so was ok overall #COYS

Christian Eriksen set pieces would not be out of place in non league football. And I have watched a LOT of non league football…

I think the 2 competitive internationals that Eriksen played are showing a bit now, needs a rest #COYS

Maybe if Eriksen thinks he's playing for Denmark while in a spurs shirt he might actually play as well as he does for them

Beautiful counter from Spurs with Eriksen putting a header just wide. Coulda been 3. When was the last time Eriksen had a good chance on a header?

The win means that Spurs have not tasted defeat once in their opening five games of this season’s Champions League campaign, with four wins and a draw under their belt.
Their 3-1 win over Real Madrid at Wembley, which was the same scoreline they beat Dortmund by when the German side visited London, secured their place in the knock out round, while Tuesday’s win confirms that they will progress as group winners.
In other Tottenham news, Martin Keown has said the club are risking a major break up of their top stars.
