Tottenham fans are torn about the Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to Marseille deal as they debate about whether the club should have landed a bigger fee for the defender.

Højbjerg is close to joining the French giants for a reported £12 million, leaving many fans speculating about whether the club got a good deal for the 28-year-old.

Fulham were interested in the Denmark international but they now look set to miss out on his signing.

Following the £40 million signing of Archie Gray, Højbjerg has been deemed surplus to requirements by the club who were happy to let him leave.

Tottenham fans unimpressed by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg deal

Højbjerg only started nine of his 36 Premier League appearances for Spurs last season, Ange Postecoglou has preferred Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr ahead of him since taking over.

With just one year left on his contract, Spurs were reluctant to offer the 28-year-old a new deal with younger prospects emerging ahead of him.

Despite finding Premier League game time hard to come by, Højbjerg started every single game for Denmark in their Euro 2024 campaign.

Supporters are now suggesting that Spurs should have gotten more for the combative midfielder and have compared the asking price to that of full-back Emerson Royal.
