'Yes, Toby', 'Loving the commitment' - Tottenham fans react to Alderweireld Twitter message

By Richard Parks
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to urge Toby Alderweireld to sign a new contract after he expressed his delight at the team’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Spurs secured the three points in a hard-fought encounter through a late Harry Kane goal just when they appeared set for a frustrating outcome.
Contract rebel Alderweireld posted a triumphant message on his personal Twitter account as he hailed the win with an image of celebrating Tottenham players.

The Belgium international’s message comes amid widespread reports talks with Spurs over a new contract broke down last month and manager Mauricio Pochettino has given the green light for him to be sold this summer.
It has been stated that the 28-year-old is holding out for a triple-your-money £150,000-a-week deal that would make him Tottenham’s top earner.
Spurs fans are delighted that Alderweireld, who missed Sunday’s match with a minor hamstring injury, is committed to the cause.
But they are keen for proof that he is keen to extend his stay beyond the summer of 2019.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
