Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Arsenal defeat against West Brom

By Amir Mir

Arsenal were beaten 3-1 at West Brom on Saturday afternoon at the Hawthorns – and Tottenham fans on Twitter have mocked their rivals.

Arsene Wenger’s side produced a poor display, particularly, in defence as they once again crumbled to another defeat on the road – their third consecutive loss.

Defender Craig Dawson scored two headed goals on either side of the break with substitute Hal Robson-Kanu also chipping in to pile more misery on the Gunners.

Unsurprisingly, Spurs fans on Twitter were delighted to see their rivals lose yet another match because they have now lost further ground on the top four.

At this moment in time, Arsenal are sitting in fifth place on 50 points from their 27 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and six points behind Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side can extend that lead on Sunday afternoon when they take on Southampton at White Hart Lane.

One fan posted a picture of a miserable looking Alexis Sanchez who was substituted in the second half after picking up a knock.

The supporter questioned why he left La Liga giants Barcelona to join the Gunners as the Arsenal faithful expressed their anger at the defeat.

Overall, the White Hart Lane faithful were pleased that their north London neighbours are having a nightmare season.

Here is a selection of their results on Twitter:

In other Tottenham news, Paul Merson has questioned this Spurs ace and claimed he cannot do this over five games.
