Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Janssen axe v Leverkusen
By Dominic Toner
Vincent Janssen has been left out of the starting XI on Wednesday night – and Tottenham fans were not pleased with the decision.
Spurs face a home match against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League group stages and will be looking to better the 0-0 draw from the reverse fixture in Germany.
The north London are currently involved in a fascinating group alongside Monaco, Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow, with the four teams separated by just three points.
They are currently second and still have two of their three games left to play at home against Leverkusen and CSKA, with Spurs using the national stadium Wembley this season.
Heung-Min Son has been preferred to lead the Spurs attack and Janssen will have to wait for an opportunity from the bench.

no Janssen, how can you expect him to be firing them in when you bench him and never give him a consistent run of games?!

Dropping Rose is a big mistake, dropping Janssen is going to do wonders for his confidence! ????

I'm very unhappy Janssen dropped, no wonder he can't score, not allowed to get into a rhythm #THFC

Janssen, 22, has endured a mixed start to his Spurs career this season and is still settling at White Hart Lane.
The striker moved from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the summer following an impressive season in front of goal, scoring 32 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.
He has started slowly in Pochettino’s side with just three penalty goals coming from his first 15 fixtures across all competitions.
The Dutch international is currently low on confidence and the imminent return of Harry Kave from injury could mean Janssen is restricted to the bench more often in the future.
