Tottenham fans were left fuming over Dele Alli’s first-half display at Wembley, with many blaming the star’s carelessness on the ball as leading to West Bromwich Albion’s goal.

WBA took a surprise lead in the third minute when Salomon Rondon shrugged off Davinson Sánchez’ attempted challenge to slot a weak shot past Hugo Lloris.

Fans were critical of both Sanchez and Lloris, but most of the fans turned their ire on Alli after a listless display.

Alli did not get any better as the half went on, with Livermore getting the best of him on a couple of occasions, much to Spurs fans’ annoyance.

One fan questioned the England international’s attitude, implying that the least he could do was “work hard” as it doesn’t “cost” him anything.

Ahead of the game, the midfielder revealed in an interview that he believed his season has been “hit and miss” and that he is his own “biggest critic” when it comes to his performances.

If he is his own biggest critic, it’s hard to imagine him making harsher comments than these angry Spurs fans.

The score remains 01 at half-time and Mauricio Pochettino’s men have got it all to do if they’re going to break down an organised and committed West Brom defence.
