Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Janssen display v Burnley
By Harvey Byrne
Striker Vincent Janssen played the 73 minutes of Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Burnley on Saturday afternoon – and Spurs fans on Twitter were disappointed with what they saw.
The north London club battled to a victory which saw midfielders Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama suffer injuries in the first half.
They have joined stars Danny Rose and Harry Kane on the treatment table and it was the latter who Janssen was standing in for in the team.
However, unlike the English goal machine Janssen struggled to have an impact on the match, leaving many disgruntled Tottenham fans on social media.
One fan compared the Holland international to former flop Roberto Soldado, while another labelled him as “toothless”.

We're toothless with Janssen up front. His movement is poor & we are not getting beyond him enough.Trippier & Davies are not attacking enough

I'm sure there's nothing to read into the fact that Son scored two minutes after being subbed on for still worthless Vincent Janssen. #COYS

Janssen’s appearance on Saturday marked his 32nd for the club, but just one of his five goals have come from open play, while he has also only contributed three assists.
Kane’s second serious injury of the campaign has also given him another chance to impress after struggling earlier on in the season, but it looks like fans may be starting to accept that the £17million summer signing is a flop.
