Tottenham fans react on Twitter as Man City drop points at home to Stoke

By Will Butcher

Tottenham fans are ecstatic on Twitter after Manchester City missed the chance to go second following a surprise 0-0 draw against Stoke City on Monday night.

Mark Hughes’ Potters held firm against Pep Guardiola’s side, who failed to find a way past the likes of Ryan Shawcross, Bruno Martins Indi and Lee Grant.

Gaining just a point, City now remain in third on goal difference with the disappointing draw, as Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero and Jesus Navas were kept at bay.

City are now in danger of dropping into fourth place, with Liverpool able to leapfrog their rivals into third if they beat Burnley on the weekend.

Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter in delight as they remain in second behind league leaders Chelsea, with many humorously claiming that the 0-0 draw is a bigger result than Barcelona’s wonderful Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham’s concentration also switches away from the Premier League this weekend, as they face London rivals Millwall in the FA Cup with the chance to move into the last four.

Spurs next face Southampton on March 19 in the league, as they look to keep the pressure on Antonio Conte’s league leaders with three points.
