Tottenham fans react on Twitter to tactical switch against Chelsea

By Harvey Byrne

Mauricio Pochettino has seemingly emulated Antonio Conte’s Chelsea formation with his Tottenham line-up on Wednesday – and Spurs fans on Twitter are happy.

The Argentine boss has named a three man defensive line with Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen all expected to shield Hugo Lloris’ goal.

This will then see Kyle Walker and Danny Rose occupy the wing-back roles as they look to help the attack as well as the defence.

It is a formation that has been used to great effect by Conte this campaign and has seen them win 13 matches in a row, while sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Spurs supporters are now pleased on social media that Pochettino has adapted from his usual 4-2-3-1 tactic, which could catch the Blues by surprise.

A win for Tottenham on Wednesday will see them move up to third and ahead of fierce rivals Arsenal and Manchester City in the league table.

They will be keen to beat Chelsea and end their winning run, with the thought that it could put a dent in their title hopes like the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge had on Spurs last season.
