Tottenham fans react to Vincent Janssen Twitter post ahead of Southampton clash

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham fans have urged Vincent Janssen to continue in the absence of star Harry Kane after the attacker shared a message to fans looking ahead to Sunday’s Southampton clash.

The north London club are currently gearing themselves up for a Premier League encounter against the south coast side at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino will line up his team without England international Kane after he suffered an ankle injury in last weekend’s FA Cup tie with Millwall.

It is likely that one of Janssen and Son Heung-min will step up in the place of Kane and the young Dutch forward shared on his personal Twitter account on Thursday that he was looking forward to the weekend encounter.

The message provoked a lot of support from Tottenham fans on social media and large sections have urged him to continue from last week’s goal scoring display.

If Janssen does start against Southampton then he will be hoping to help Tottenham to all three points as they look to keep the pace with league leaders Chelsea.

However, a bad result for Spurs could see them drop down to fourth with both Manchester City and Liverpool leapfrogging them.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans have also reacted on Twitter to Jake Livermore’s international call-up.
