'Liability', 'Sold this summer' - Tottenham fans slam speed machine's first half v Bournemouth

Tottenham fans have taken to social media to slam the first half performance of Serge Aurier during the club’s away clash at Bournemouth.

The Lilywhites, fresh from being knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Juventus, were hoping to bounce back with a bright display against the Cherries, with the opportunity to leapfrog Liverpool into third place at hand after the Reds’ 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

It was Eddie Howe’s men who made the better start though, launching a blistering counter attack after five minutes which left two attackers through on goal, but were denied by the crossbar.

However minutes later and Hugo Lloris was beaten, Junior Stanislas striking home with a firm hit after the Spurs defence failed to clear the ball.

Of those in the Tottenham back four, it was Ivory Coast speed machine Aurier who bore the brunt of the fans’ frustrations, with many suggesting that Kieran Trippier, who he replaced in the starting XI for the clash, should be first choice instead.

Aurier made up for his defensive errors with an impressive cross which saw Dele Alli level after 35 minutes, the 25-year-old grabbing what was his fourth assist in his 22nd appearance of the season.
