Tottenham fans have taken to social media to tear into Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after his claims in the post match interview of Sunday’s 2-2 draw.
In a thrilling tie at Anfield, Mohamed Salah had given the Reds the lead in the first half before second half substitute Victor Wanyama netted his first goal of the season with a thunderous strike with 10 minutes left to play.
Controversy reigned as Lorus Karius conceded a penalty in the 87th minute after bringing down Harry Kane, who himself appeared to be standing in an offside position when the ball was played, but the German shot stopper proceeded to deny the England striker’s poor effort.
It looked as though the home side had secured victory with Salah’s second goal of the game coming in the first minute of added time, but Virgil van Dijk’s kick on Erik Lamela provided Kane the chance to net from the spot, and slotted home with seconds to spare to take a point back to north London.
After the game Klopp, who had celebrated up the touchline after Salah’s second, suggested that both penalty claims were wrongly awarded by the officials, which got the Tottenham fans riled up on Twitter, suggesting he may need some new glasses after his comments.
