Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to slam Fernando Llorente for his performance in the 3-0 FA Cup third round win against AFC Wimbledon at Wembley on Sunday.
Spurs ensured their name would be in the fourth round draw on Monday night but had to wait until the 68th minute to make the breakthrough when three goals came in rapid succession.
Harry Kane netted twice in two minutes before Jan Vertonghen rounded off the win in the 71st minute.
Although Mauricio Pochettino’s side were victorious, many fans were worried about the performance of Llorente, who was hooked after 59 minutes after he failed to make much of an impact up front alongside Kane.
Fans on Twitter tore into the Spanish target man after the game, with one saying he was an “absolute clown”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Thought Foyth looked decent today and Lamela played well,
Llorente up front was a absolute clown today, couldn’t hold the ball up and kept losing it, it’s no coincidence we scored 2 mins after he went off #coys— Kevin Gower © (@KGower83) January 7, 2018
Llorente was a bit of mess. Thank God Sonny has come on. #COYS

Good change. Llorente has been terrible. Offers nothing #COYS

Can we bundle Llorente up with Sissoko in a package deal of awfulness?
Both utterly shambolic. BUY. A. STRIKER #COYS

Jansen was utter garbage but to say Llorente has been more effective than him is a real stretch https://t.co/TyfQghkoxi

Think you are being kind to Llorente Alasdair. He was awful. Didn’t win a header or more than break into a jog. Whatever the reasons for signing him I am more baffled every tine I see him play. Doesn’t fit in at all

I agree with you Adam. Couldn’t believe he was playing today. Poch obviously doesn’t trust Llorente (who was awful).

Llorente was signed up by Spurs on transfer deadline day in the summer, seemingly to replace Vincent Janssen as the second choice striker to Kane.
However the former Juventus forward has found it very tough to even get a look in at Tottenham, making just six starts across all competitions this season.
In 22 appearances in domestic and European fixtures, Llorente has just two goals to his name.
In other Tottenham news, this prolific forward wanted by Spurs is on the verge of sealing a £35million transfer.
