Tottenham handed 'massive' boost v Aston Villa after 'huge' Kane development
Noel Whelan has claimed Tottenham have been handed a “massive” boost against Aston Villa after Harry Kane’s hat-trick versus NS Mura.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker insisted the three goals would be “huge” for the 28-year-old’s confidence heading into Sunday’s game.
Kane came off the bench on Thursday to score three times in under 20 minutes on the way to a 5-1 win.
He now has six goals under his belt for Spurs this season.
However, not one of those strikes has come in the Premier League.
Whelan insisted the striker’s confidence would be sky high after rediscovering his scoring touch in midweek.

As such, he suggested Spurs had been given a major lift ahead of Villa’s visit to north London.
Asked how much of a confidence boost the hat-trick would give Kane and Spurs, Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Massive. As a striker, absolutely huge.
“It doesn’t matter who it’s against, how they come or how you get the goals. That is what you’re there for.
“That is what gives you your belief and that confidence as a striker.
“Look, we know he is one of the best strikers in the world, there’s no doubt about that. You know the goals are going to come.
“You just now need him to take that form and those goal-scoring instincts into the weekend. It’s another big game for them.”
Spurs’ last league outing saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s men humbled by north London rivals Arsenal in a 3-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Villa visit Spurs off the back of a 1-0 win away at Manchester United.
