Tottenham are still open to letting Richarlison leave this month despite his return to form and he will be sold for the right price even in the final days of January, according to the club's former scout.

Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at Tottenham and also worked as the chief scout at Man United and Blackburn, exclusively told Football Insider that the club will listen to offers for the 27-year-old in the closing stages of the window.

That is despite him having scored two goals in his last two games against Everton and Leicester since his return from a hamstring injury.

Richarlison has been on the fringes of Ange Postecoglou's squad and has started just 19 Premier League games since the manager's arrival last season.

His injury issues have also been a long-standing concern for the club, and there is a growing feeling that his long-term future lies away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham make Richarlison exit decision after recent form

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that his recent goalscoring exploits have not eased the lingering concerns.

"Richarlison is always capable of performing well," he told Football Insider.

"For me, he's one of those players who always does just enough to keep you interested.

"But you have to look at his consistency, not even just at Tottenham but throughout his career.

"There's a player there and he's got some assets, and he's hit a run of form recently which might get people sucked in to thinking he's going to be a regular.

"But again, it's about consistency and I think that's been lacking.

"So I wouldn't expect his recent form to make much of a difference, because the reasons they're open to letting him go haven't changed.

"He's still going to be inconsistent, he's struggled with injuries, and a couple of goals won't make much of a difference to that."
