Paul Robinson claims Tottenham and Harry Kane are both taking huge risks after the player decided to stay at the club.

The former Spurs stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on Kane.

On 27 August, The Athletic claimed Tottenham offered a new deal to Kane earlier in the month.

This came days after Kane confirmed he would be staying at Spurs amid heavy interest from Manchester City.

Kane has now returned to the fold at Tottenham and made a goalscoring return in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.

Robinson claims Kane's value will decrease rapidly over the next 12 months and insists any potential transfer had to be done this summer.

"His value will decrease," Robinson told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs,

"I'm not sure whether it would be as much as £50million but there will be a lot to take into consideration.

"He's 29 next year. How are his ankles going to be this season? We know how they are.

"Will he get injuries? Both parties are taking a huge risk now. There will be more injury potential as he gets older.

"If it was going to be done it had to happen this summer. If he still wants to leave, that's a huge risk there."

Kane has also now made two appearances in the Premier League this season after missing his side's opener against Man City.

However, the England captain failed to find the net against Wolves and Norwich.
